Parents' Day 2012

Saturday, November 3
10:00am-2:00pm
Amphitheater area

Lander students and their families are invited to Bearcat Country's traditional autumn festival "Parents' Day". This is a fantastic time for parents, grandparents and the entire family to visit their college student while enjoying some great food and music!

This year's theme is "Lander in the 1920s".  Bring your flappers and we'll be puttin' on the Ritz!  Come enjoy a glance of life at Lander back in the Roaring 20's.  View old yearbooks, newspapers, photographs while listening to the nostalgic sounds of the Blair Crimmin's band.

10:00am-2:00pm
Have fun with your family on Lander's campus during Parents' Day 2012 featuring a classic car show inflatable games, live music on the Amphitheater stage including performances by the Blair Crimmins band and inspirational songs from Lander's "Minorities on the Move" Gospel Choir.  No admission fees for these events.

10:30am Costume Contest
Student groups of 5 or more will get to display their best Roaring 20's attire.  From fringed flapper dresses to pin-striped Zoot suits, expect to see the best trends from the 1920s.  The winning group will receive $200.

11:30am-1:00pm Lunch
Lunch will be available outside by the Amphitheater (weather permitting).  Our award-winning Lander Dining Services will serve a feast of BBQ pork, coleslaw, baked beans, cucumber & tomato salad, chips and delicious desserts!   Meal cost: $6 per person.
