Lander President’s Leadership Academy

LPLA BannerLeadership Academy is about creating opportunities, programs, and forums that engage and empower students with interdisciplinary leadership and innovation skills today for tomorrow’s challenges. At the heart of our efforts is learning while helping others.

The program has been designed to be an engaging, empowering, and a fun experience for our top freshmen to further develop their leadership talents with other top freshmen leaders.

Specifically, if you are chosen for the Lander President’s Leadership Academy you will be part of a yearlong one-hour class per week, a cool leadership retreat to lake side cabins (complete with team building, ropes course, etc.), and learn team skills by doing a service-learning project with other active students.

Incoming freshmen have to be nominated as leaders amongst peers by their high school guidance counselors.

What's the next step for those nominated?  You must accept the nomination and schedule an on-campus interview.  The on campus interviews will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday June 28th OR Thursday 3-6 p.m. on June 30th.

If you have been nominated and you wish to accept your nomination, please email us letting us know you would like to interview for one of the spots in the program with the interview date you choose.  Email us at tsantella@lander.edu.
