Internships - Student Information
What is an Internship?
Internships are defined by Lander's course catalog as an academic experience designed to give students practical work exposure in the field closely related to their majors.
How many hours will I work in an internship?
Internships come in both part-time and full-time positions depending on the employer.
- Part-Time: 10-15 hours per week
160-175 hours per semester
- Full-Time: 30-40 hours per week
600 hours per semester
Will I be paid?
Payment for internships is different for every opportunity based on the place of business and whether it is a full-time or part-time position. The U.S. Department of Labor provides information concerning internships as related to the Fair Standard Labor Act. Click here to read Fact Sheet #71 for complete details.
