Human Subjects Subcommittee
The purpose of the Human Subjects Subcommittee is to review applications for proposed human
subjects research and to determine adherence to the guidelines for ethical research. The
committee operates in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations for research with human
subjects and in compliance with the policies set forth in Section IV of the Lander
University Faculty Handbook.
Members serve three years terms and are eligible for reappointment at the end of their
respective term. Current committee membership is as follows:

Mission Statement for Lander Human Subjects’ Research Committee
The primary mission of Lander University’s Human Subjects Research Committee is to insure
protection of individuals who will be the subjects of research. Lander University is committed to
following the ethical standards and principles of justice, respect and beneficence, presented by
the Belmont Report, as well as all applicable federal, state and local regulations, and university
policies and procedures.
