I was attracted to Lander because of its outstanding College of Business and Public Affairs. With its AACSB accreditation, the School of Management stands alongside the best in the world. The classes are smaller, giving the students a more personal relationship with professors to enhance their education. The professors are engaged in the students' education, helping them to strive for a successful future. As a member and chief executive officer of the Lander Professional Business Society I have had an opportunity to use the knowledge I gained from the classroom to focus on academic and professional development. As an intern through the School of Management I have also had an opportunity to gain experiences and knowledge beyond the classroom and in a real-world environment preparing me for a future in accounting and taxation. This department gives students opportunities and education to truly prepare them for a successful future.

Scholarship & Awards Recipients

  • Lander honors top Business and Public Affairs scholars at annual awards ceremony

    More than 50 Lander University students were recently honored for their scholastic accomplishments during the 2012-13 academic year, receiving the top academic discipline and special awards from the university's four colleges. The awards were presented during Lander's annual Academic Awards ceremony, held at the conclusion of the spring semester.

  • Lander awards top academic honor to graduate from Greenwood

    Summer Sprouse, of Greenwood, graduated from Lander University in April with bachelor of science degree in business with an accounting emphasis. Early in July she was informed that she was the recipient of Lander's coveted Thayer Award presented on behalf of the family of Dr. Henry K. Thayer to the graduating senior achieving the highest scholastic average.

    Lander University student Mihajlo Kozjak, right, of Belgrade, Serbia, a business administration major with economic/finance emphasis, has been selected to receive the International Student Scholarship. Claire Parks, center, of North Augusta, a business administration major with marketing/management emphasis, was awarded the Ed Troublefield Scholarship.

  • Lander University business students receive McFerrin scholarships

    Eight Lander University business administration students have been awarded the Jean T. McFerrin Scholarship, established in 1988 by Jean and Cecil McFerrin. Jean McFerrin, a 1948 Lander graduate, maintained close ties with her alma mater and held numerous positions with the Alumni Association, The Lander Foundation and the Board of Trustees.
