Lander University's Homecoming Week is February 2-7
The week is filled with lots of fun activities for students, alumni, faculty and staff. Students may form groups to compete in daily challenges through-out the week, including banner competitions, golf-cart parade, soapbox car race, field day, spirit night and much more! Who can participate?
ALL Lander students, faculty and staff members including student clubs, organizations and any "group" or "team" which is formed solely for the purpose of competing in a Homecoming activity. All participating groups must submit their completed entry forms before 12noon on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

Judging of the Golf Carts @ Jeff May Complex.
Golf Cart Parade! Student groups will show-off their 90's themed Golf Carts along a parade route which leads from the Jeff May Complex to Lide Parking lot.
Banner Unveiling! Gather inside the Grier Student Center’s commons for an official Unveiling of Banners.
Skit Night! Enjoy the creative talents of our students as they perform skits based on Lander in the 1990’s. Location: Horne Arena.
Tuesday, February 3
Voting ends for Homecoming King & Queen.
90's Costume Contest / Family Feud Game.
Contestants dress as their favorite 90’s family in a
Costume Contest, followed by teams competing in a fast-paced Family Feud Game at Horne Arena.
Wednesday, February 4
Basketball Game (Women) vs. Francis Marion on the floor of Horne Arena. Groups will not be judged on spirit during this game, but may earn an extra 5-points to their total score by attending.
Spirit Night @ Basketball Game (Men) vs. Francis Marion in Horne Arena. Show your Bearcat spirit and cheer our team to victory. Judging for spirit” is held during the men’s game. Reserved seating for student organizations competing for points.

Field Day. Competitions on the front lawn of Laura Lander include a Trolley Race, Tug of War, Giant Underwear Water Game (wet & muddy!) plus an awesome Obstacle Course involving Puzzles, Tires, Mummy Wrap Runs & Clean the Plate challenges!

Friday, February 6
Chandler Soapbox Car Race.
Don’t miss this fun Soapbox Car Race. Teams show off their custom-built 90’s themed cars for the judges at 3:30pm, before pushing their car to the top of Willson Street for a timed race down the hill. This event begins at the parking lot of Horne Arena on Willson Street.
Ice-Skating, Bonfire & 90s Cover Band “Groove Nation”
Dinner will be served outside under a huge tent at Lide Parking Lot. Students may use their meal-plan or pay $7 cash to purchase a meal which includes a buffet of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple cobbler & drink. (Dining Hall will be closed to serve dinner outside)
Saturday, February 7
Lunch will be served outside under a huge tent at Lide Parking Lot. Students may use their meal-plan or pay $___ cash to purchase a meal which includes hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, pasta salad, brownies & drink. The Dining Hall will be closed to serve lunch outside. Student groups may bring their own tent, rent a tent (limited # available) or bring their own food upon getting approval (see Homecoming Packet for details). Tailgating is a non-alcoholic event.
Basketball Game (Women) vs USC Aiken. The Homecoming Court is recognized & King is announced during half-time.
Basketball Game (Men) vs USC Aiken. The Homecoming Court is recognized & Queen is announced during half-time.
