Resident Assistant (RA) Opportunities

Students interested in becoming a Resident Assistant for the Fall 2013-Spring 2014 academic year should attend one of the Interest Sessions and submit a completed Application to the Office of Housing before February 21st to be considered for a position.

The Resident Assistant (RA) lives and works with a group of 30–50 students in a residence hall community. The position involves assisting students with personal needs; management of a floor or building of undergraduate students; administrative duties including room inventories and desk duties. The position calls for a person with a high degree of maturity, flexibility, and effective communication, confrontation, and programming skills.

All candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Be enrolled as a Lander University student
• Be in good academic standing with the university
• Be in good judicial standing with the university

Additional criteria to become an RA:
• Have a minimum Lander University cumulative/semester grade point ratio of 2.25
• Be a full-time student classified at least as a sophomore
• Residence hall living experience preferred

Applicants must attend one Interest Session.
