Four choirs to come together to perform Handel's "Messiah"
What might be the largest choir ever to appear in the Greenwood County area, 150 voices strong, will come together this month to perform G.F. Handel’s “Messiah.”
Lander presents recital with violist Matthew Darsey Oct. 22
Lander University’s Department of Music will present a recital, featuring violist Matthew Darsey, titled "Degenerates, Exiles, and Prisoners of the Third Reich," on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. in Lander’s Barksdale Recital Hall.
Lander music graduates continue to learn and impress
Three Lander University music graduates have been continuing their studies and, at the same time, showing off the talents they developed at Lander by participating in opera workshops and country music events.

Lander University conducted its annual Student Life Awards Ceremony recently, recognizing students for cocurricular achievements during the 2014-15 academic year, and presenting top students and student organizations special awards for service.
Lander Dance Company to Perform on April 20
“Freedom and Empowerment” is the theme of the Lander University Dance Company’s performance on Monday, April 20, in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium beginning at 8 p.m.

The deadline to enter Lander University’s Short Film Competition is March 20. Part of the Sixth Annual Lander Film Festival, the event will feature lines written by writers from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. specifically for the competition.
Lander Department of Music Receives Reaccreditation
Lander University’s Department of Music has received an outstanding review from a team of educators representing the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), which has reaccredited the department for another eight years.
Trumpet Artist Cody Beard to Play Recital
The public is invited to attend a recital featuring Lander University senior trumpet player Cody Beard at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Greenwood’s First Presbyterian Church.
Lander Dance Company Performs Nov. 17-18
“Speaking Bodies” will be the theme when Lander University’s Dance Company performs in concert on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 17 and 18. Performances both nights will be in Lander’s Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium, beginning at 8 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
Lander University hosts 2014 M.A.T. Graduate Art Exhibit
Lander University will host the 2014 M.A.T. Graduate Art Exhibition in the Jackson Library from June 26 - July 3, with a closing reception on July 2 from 5-7 p.m.
