    "Lander in the 1920s" was the theme of this year's Parents Day, which featured 20s-era yearbooks, newspapers and photographs; a 20s-era costume contest and the nostalgic sounds of the Blair Crimmins band. Among the estimated 800 in attendance were Hollis Kimbrell, a special education major from Rock Hill, and her mother, Heather Oliver; and Samuel Mauney, a business administration major from Pawley's Island, and his parents Dena and David.

    Three Lander University students finished at the top of the pack in this year's "Biggest Loser" competition losing a combined total of 78 pounds, or about a third of their body weight. The contest was sponsored by Lander's Student Wellness Center.

  • Lander's Dance Team wins Regional and national honors

    Lander University's Cheerleaders and Dance Team enjoyed a successful record in competitive events this spring. Both groups were entered in the Peach Belt Conference Spirit Competition, held in conjunction with the Peach Belt Conference Basketball Tournament at Columbus State University in Georgia on March 3 and, two weeks later, they competed in the Cheer Ltd. CANAM Nationals at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
