    Summer Sprouse, of Greenwood, graduated from Lander University in April with bachelor of science degree in business with an accounting emphasis. Early in July she was informed that she was the recipient of Lander's coveted Thayer Award presented on behalf of the family of Dr. Henry K. Thayer to the graduating senior achieving the highest scholastic average.

  • Lander University business students receive McFerrin scholarships

    Eight Lander University business administration students have been awarded the Jean T. McFerrin Scholarship, established in 1988 by Jean and Cecil McFerrin. Jean McFerrin, a 1948 Lander graduate, maintained close ties with her alma mater and held numerous positions with the Alumni Association, The Lander Foundation and the Board of Trustees.

    Lander University business administration majors Nichole Upton, left, of Greenwood, and Latraveus Mathis, center, of Greenwood, have been selected to receive the G. Bonner and Martha B. Harvley Scholarship, established in 1999 by Martha H. Dunlap in honor of her parents, G. Bonner and Martha B. Harvley. Selection for the scholarship, awarded to business administration majors, is based on criteria including character, academic record and recommendation by a high school or college counselor.
