Lander Baseball Players Honored with Scholarship in Their Names
This year, Jay Robinson and Tyler Wilson helped Lander University’s baseball team to the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles and the NCAA Division II Southeast regional championship. That qualified the team to play in the Division II College World Series in North Carolina in May for the first time in the program’s history. Their amazing stories have prompted an anonymous donor to create a scholarship at Lander in their names.
Ballentine and Toyota team up to provide scholarship aid to Lander
Lander University’s scholarship program has received a $5,000 boost from Ballentine Toyota in Greenwood and Toyota Motors USA.

Lander University has announced appointment of five new members to the Board of Trustees of The Lander Foundation, which is the policy-making board of the university. It is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for receiving, managing and investing gifts for the welfare of the university. The new appointees are:
Forever Lander to emphasize support for scholarship assistance
Lander University is preparing to actively promote its annual fund, emphasizing the importance of contributions to help the university deal with challenges stemming largely from steadily shrinking state financial support. The initiative will also enable Lander to increase scholarship assistance and spare graduates from having to face years of paying off student loans.

Dr. Ernest McPherson (Whitey) Lander Jr., 97, of Clemson, husband of the late Sarah (Tish) Shirley Lander, died Saturday, August 17, 2013.
