    Dr. Jonathan Bassett brings statewide and national recognition to Lander University through his research, publications and honors. Earlier this year, Lander recognized Bassett's outstanding efforts by naming him the university's 2011 Distinguished Professor, the award given for exemplary performance as a classroom teacher and scholar, and for services to Lander and beyond.

  • Lander laboratory named in honor of longtime educator

    Dr. Richard Fox, of Greenwood, retired as professor of biology in 2008 ending his 31-year academic career at Lander University, but his name is permanently engraved, not just on the minds of his former students and former colleagues, but also on the laboratory where he did most of his teaching.

  • International Education Week 'A Great Success'

    Lander University's first observation of International Education Week (IEW) "was a great success," according to Jeff Constant, director of international students and scholar services for the Office of International Programs, which sponsored the event. Constant added, "We hope to build off the energy created this year to make next year even better."

  • Lander Chamber Strings to have concert Dec. 9

    The Lander University Chamber Strings will wrap up the fall semester with a concert Friday, Dec. 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 501 E. Creswell Avenue in Greenwood. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

  • The first female general in S.C. Army National Guard history to deliver Lander commencement address

    Brigadier General Darlene M. Goff, a Lander University graduate and the first woman promoted to general in the history of the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCANG), will deliver the commencement address to 191 degree candidates at Lander's graduation ceremony, Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m., in the university's Finis Horne Arena.
