Christmas has come early for two Lander University music students thanks to Lander employee Tommy Tumblin, who has earned the nickname "Tommy Claus" for his generosity in making the holiday season brighter on campus and in the Greenwood community.

Lander University observed Arbor Day last week with the planting of a deodar cedar near the pedestrian bridge between Centennial Hall and the Grier Student Center.

Valentina Bueno, a sophomore member of Lander University's women's golf team, was among 10 female and male golfers who represented Peru in an amateur championship, matching players from nine countries in South America.

Andi Mills, of Honea Path, has been a student at Lander University for two-and-a half years but, when she returned for classes in September, it was the first time that she could actually see the campus. "I saw flowers, the landscaping, the buildings. I saw my fellow students and professors for the first time."
