Car Seat Safety

Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth of the S.C. Highway Patrol discusses car seat safety with Justin Simpson of Greenwood as Simpson’s 10-month-old daughter McKinley looks on. Edgeworth and Lander University police conducted a car seat safety check at Lander on Thursday. Edgeworth said the purpose was to demonstrate the proper installation of car seats to make sure their occupants are safe. He said statistics show that as many as 80 percent of car seats are improperly installed, need adjustments or should be replaced because of age of condition.
